St. Lucia

What a beautiful part of the world! My partner in crime Jamie and I departed on a cold Wisconsin morning, 5:55 am, from Milwaukee General Mitchell Airport and arrived in St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport at 3:22 pm with a brief layover in Atlanta. Sunshine and warm weather greeted us as we landed and found our luggage in the baggage claim area.
Before our visit we were warned that the driving conditions in St. Lucia were going to be a little treacherous, but we were ready and willing to drive on the opposite side of the road and through the winding terrain. Little did we realize just how winding the roads were, as well as all the potholes and steep mountainous terrain that we would have to cross to get to our resort! A little note to self: NEVER rent a car again in St. Lucia. The drivers were crazy, zooming around the bends and turns, not seeming to care that there were only inches between their cars and the mountains edge sheer drop of hundreds of feet straight down. Needless to say, by the time we arrived at our final destination, we were both nervous wrecks! Our car sat the entire time in the parking lot during our stay at Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Spa.
